Job Description

To support the financial accounting function by managing the accounting pertaining to General Ledger, Banking, Fixed Assets, and other support functions, in order to control the integrity of the reported financial results and ensure the distribution of accurate reporting to guide decision making in line with Target’s values. Integral to the role is the management of four accounting team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting and month-end reporting, for areas of responsibility, in line with timetable requirements
  • Complete, support, and review relevant balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Support the preparation of half-year and year-end results and audit process
  • Ensure the observance and application of corporate governance within Target with all financial decisions
  • Ensure documentation of procedures are maintained
  • Continuous development and improvement of financial accounting processes and procedures
  • Approval and release of parked invoice
  • Lead the accountant and analyst team
  • Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and financial accounting as required
  • Involved in ad-hoc finance projects

Desired qualification and work experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or related discipline
  • Post Graduate qualifications in CPA/CA
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience accounting in a fast-paced environment

Technical skills

  • Experience using SAP finance S4Hana an advantage
  • Demonstrated competence in disciplines of accounting principles and numeracy skills
  • Working knowledge of accounting process, accounting standards, financial and KPI reporting
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and commentate on reporting to guide decision making
